Inspiration Week: Music

Music speaks to the heart. At times, it pierces where words cannot. It is a language all its own and my life would be bland without it. For me, inspiration can be found across genres. Here are a few of my favorites. I hope these stir your imagination!

(Not the best version, but the only one I could find on short notice.)

  1. Very cool- I like that you posted these. The last one by T is haunting! I don't know what I'd do without music playing when writing!

  5. Music has always been my biggest inspiration.

Too bad Richard Marx has that 80's stigma - he'd have done well in the alternative genre, I think. I like the song you posted - never heard it before!

  6. what a great post! i've got my ipod set to a "writing" list - and it's a great combination of pop, alternative and country (odd, i know, but it works for me). you would think i'd have some classical in there....but i actually NEVER thought of that. duh. but, guess what i'm adding today!

  7. I'm inspired by Beethoven's "Fur Elise" and "Moonlight Sonata." I'm also a huge fan of Canon in D and Barber's Adagio.

I love Vivaldi. Big band swing, classic rock, blue grass, old-timey country and heavy metal.

Music is such an inspiration to me. I love this post!

  11. Music does inspire me, but I can't write while I listen to it. I get too distracted. Give me a good jazz song to get in the mood for pretty much anything.
