Going Techie

While on vacation, I got to play with my mother-in-law's ipad. I have to say I'm a little hooked. I never thought I'd jump on the e-reader bandwagon because I love holding actual books in my hand - feeling the paper as I turn the page, entering bookstores to see the sea of shelves covered in varieties of titles and colors, the smell - but with all our moving around the world having our books in storage (literally and figuratively speaking) will lighten our load tremendously! I think I'm going to cave soon. What do you think of the e-readers? Which one is your favorite?

  1. We are Kindle fans! Spencer & I both have a Kindle and use them all the time. We did the same thing with our books, we had to put them in storage b/c of the weight, etc. Good Luck!

  3. I suspect DH is going to buy me a Kindle this year. I have fought the urge to buy one but he feels I will enjoy owning one. He doesn't read much so there is no ploy on his part. I have Kindle on my pc it is OK but I find it hard to read comfortably. A hand-held Kindle might change my mind.

  5. Ahhh! But there's so much more to the iPad. I want one, but I'll live with my iPhone. As for an e-reader, I have the Barnes & Nobel Pandigital. I do love it!

  6. I have a Kindle. I don't love reading ebooks, but the Kindle is great for what I use if for, which is mostly reading manuscripts and submissions. I love how easy it is to get ebooks from Amazon, though.

  7. This tends to be the pattern. Professing love of paper books, smells, bookstores, flipping pages TO trying out a ereader, being amazed by it's convenience and ease TO convert

I read on my iphone, not even a dedicated reader, and I'm hooked.

  8. I, too, drool over the iPad, and recently other tablets. It was an obsession, but now it's just a serious want. I do have a Kindle, though. I dig it, and so do my straining bookshelves.

    From your newb follower :)

  9. I think your lifestyle (the moves) is good reason RIGHT THERE to cave. :D

I have both an iPad and a Kindle. I love my Kindle best for reading books. But the iPad is great too! Love it for other reasons :) Tho I don't use it as often as I do my Kindle.
