Terry Tibke

Assassination, tentacled enemies, a being of unlimited power, and a 17 year-old ready to save the world all come together in Terry Tibke's Upgrader: Re-Engineered. As the cover indicates, Terry has effectively captured the action sequences and style of a graphic novel (comic book, for the uninitiated) within a text form. The fast pace of the story starts in the first chapter and doesn't let up until you've finished the last page. The storyline was well executed and the main character, 17 year-old Dylan Kane, was easy to connect with and root for. Despite the age of the main character, I would recommend this to middle-grade readers. Most of the books from Actionopolis are designed to capture younger audiences with an easy reading level and a low page count. Perfect for the reluctant reader, yeah? :D

Upgrader: Re-Engineered was a quick, fun read giving a taste for a very interesting world that I hope we'll see more of in the future.
