So true! Have you ever notice that when we compare we are comparing our weakness to someone else's strengths anyway- we don't even compare fairly! Thanks for the reminder of this!
Envy is a symptom of lack of appreciation of our own uniqueness and self worth. Each of us has something to give that no one else has. ~Elizabeth O'Connor
I've heard the saying. If you compare yourself to others you either come out ahead or behind and neither is good. It's so hard not to do, but we need to remember not to do it.
Guys get caught in the same trap, but there will always be those who are younger, better looking, smarter, richer, and more popular, so we can't ever "be it all". But each of us is unique and was put here by God for a reason. So, if we're good enough for God (sort of) why can't we forgive ourselves for our imperfections?
I'd agree with this if you're comparing yourself in the hopes that you'll come out better than the other person. Unfortunately, there is always going to be someone that is better than us at something. But comparison for the sake of improvement (i.e. learning from what they do as opposed to what you do) is something I believe in. Nice Ten Word Tuesday :)
Amen sista! Good one. :)

Tamara, sometimes I think we WANT to use it as an excuse to give up because it's easier. I just keep telling myself I can do hard things. :)
Patti, that is a great saying! I've not heard it before, but it's so true!
You and me both, Christina!
So true, but so easy to do!
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness! So true, too.

ReplyDeleteI've also been thinking about "It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice," lately. :)
