Brierly's Lillies and More

I want to tell you about a very amazing person. Angie Lofthouse is one of the people that encouraged me to being the writing journey and has helped me every step along the way by cheering me on and critiquing for me. She is the pacing queen and I haven't met a character of hers that I haven't loved. But the best thing about "Brierly's Lillies" is the world that she's created. So often in fantasy, you feel like you need to get to know a new place. With "Brierly's Lillies" you feel like you are a part of the world right from the beginning. She takes the familiar, such as Brierly's wedding, and builds all the unfamiliar around it so nothing feels unnatural. I highly recommend checking out "Brierly's Lillies", or any of the rest of work. I'm sure you'll fall in love with it as I have.

As an added incentive, Angie is running a contest which I am helping her promote.

"Brierly's Lilies" first appeared in Dragons, Knights, and Angels in April 2006. Readers called it, "A compelling story . . . Very well done."

"Lilies," Brierly had said with a wistful smile, so Tiann went out for lilies. She jogged home in the warm spring sunshine instead of porting, and saw by chance the old woman standing in the path.

So begins an adventure that will take Tiann across the ages to time to save the past and the future.

To enter The Out of This World Adventure giveaway, click on the story title to read the story, then come back here and answer the following question in the comments:

What type of flowers will you/did you have at your wedding?

Your comment will give you one entry in the grand prize drawing (includes an Amazon gift card, free book and other fun stuff!), plus one commenter on this post will win a Milky War bar. Mmmm. Include your email address, if it isn't on your profile, so we can contact the winners.

Be sure to visit the other stops on the Adventure and good luck!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Oh my! If you love a good contest (and who doesn't) I've posted a list on my sidebar of just a few that are going on right now. They're all from amazing bloggers so I'm sure you'll probably already following their blogs, but if not, go now! You won't regret it. Carolina, Elana and Christine's contests just started.

As for my own writing, I'm plugging along. My goal is to finish my book revisions by the end of May. What then? I'm not sure. I really need to find a group of readers who love epic fantasy and are used to multiple points of view. Do you happen to know anyone who would fit this description? I feel bad asking those who've already read it to read it again. Do you ever feel this way?

Happy Writing and as long as I'm well-wishing, happy Cinco de Mayo!

Since the giveaway was all about children, I decided to put all the entries in a hat and let Xander, my fiver-year-old, draw the name. And the name he drew was -
